Diablo II: Resurrected has always rewarded persistence, but few objectives demonstrate that principle better than the pursuit of a high-level character combined with a Holy Grail collection. Leveling is relatively straightforward at the beginning. Experience arrives quickly, enemies fall easily, and each new level produces noticeable improvements. As the character advances, however, progression slows dramatically. Eventually, every additional level becomes an accomplishment. This creates a different kind of relationship with the character. The player begins to value survival more carefully because losing experience can be painful. Efficient farming routes become increasingly important. High-level areas become the focus.
